The grandchildren of the “me” generation have one refrain. “I want to do what I want, when I want, and I want it now!”
First fermented in the home of the upper class, this seed of contempt was first seen in the “me generation” of the 1950’s. Thus started the slippery slope.
The generation I chose not to participate in gave birth to the “Who, me?” generation. As the slope grew more slippery, they, the Me generation were provided with their first grandchild; the “Not Me!” generation.
We can only anticipate that the next group will be known as the “Not Me Either” generation. It is this that I hope to intercept, and impact America.
There is no time to lose. If we hesitate, it will be forever too late, as it was in Rome, and all that fell with it.
In the rush to “keep up with the Jones,” the need for a two-income family became paramount, and children were shuffled to second place. The world that evolved after the World War II victory has become the world of Visa and Mastercard. The compensation for the lack of parental love and devotion came in three forms.
1. Material things.
2. No boundaries.
3. No expectations.
Because of this, many points of view, from cultural, political and social elements have been stifled. What needs to be said by someone is not being said by anyone! Modern-era parenting of “when I have time” has defined our youth of the past, breeding contempt for authority. Today’s behavior is modeled for the children of tomorrow. The lack of boundaries demanded by parents is a direct result from the guilt felt when things are given instead of love.
The “Gotcha Media” provides pointers to the legal community, creating what has simply become an on-going, and continuously growing litigious environment, precluding positive and cooperative interaction (and yes, civilized!) with those who disagree, regardless of which side of the issue they’re on.
Add the dynamic of enabling the performance-lacking citizenry and what has been created, but for survival alone, is a politically incorrect environment.
To me it is Un-politically correct and it is the basis of the thesis for “Beyond Puke.” http://www.beyondpuke.com

”The only thing one has to Fear is FEAR itself!”

How does this square, why do I hear no one bring that up in the media. But consider this….

What caregiver, and you must admit, the President of our United States of America is America’s primary caregiver….what the hell is he doing instilling fear amongst the populace. Roosevelt was often given the credit for what is inherently the first most important thing to accomplish in behalf of a populace….that is NOT to ALLOW PEOPLE TO BE FRIGHTENED TO DEATH. President Obama, it is beyondpuke.
